We’ve been patiently waiting for this and it has finally come. The iPhone is now coming available for Verizon customers. This means the iPhone is no longer exclusively offered on AT&T. What’s different about the Verizon iPhone and why would someone want to switch to Verizon?
From appearances of things, the AT&T iPhone and the Verizon iPhone are identical, However, take a few steps back and you will see that there are a few things different. First, you may notice a seem near the top that is rumored to be about an antennae fix.
Also, there is mobile hotspots which allows up to five other devices to connect to the internet through the iPhone. A drawback is that this phone will be on Verizon’s CDMA data network which does not allow for simultaneous voice and date which also means that those other devices will also lose the connection when a call comes in.
The other draw back is that the Verizon iPhone will not be an international phone because there is no sim slot. Depending on your needs, this may never affect you.
Those two caveats aside, you’re looking at using Verizon’s oft-hailed superior coverage. This could mean better connections and fewer dropped calls; one of the reasons people have been waiting for this. We’re also hearing that Verizon will offer an unlimited data plan but they aren’t releasing pricing yet.
It’s now up to you. iPhone lovers now have a carrier choice. Which iPhone carrier best suits your needs, AT&T or Verizon?
